It is with great sadness that the staff  had to make the difficult decision to close the Falcons after 28 years because of lack of membership.

The Falcons Marching Band had been active in Watford since 1982, during which time they have achieved many notable successes. Among these are several appearances at Wembley, Birmingham International Arena and as guests at Dublin's St Patrick's Day celebrations.

The high point of all of these was when they were awarded the title of National Champions in 1988, and recently getting to the National Finals in 1998."

"Such excellence does not come easily. Experienced, dedicated staff members, most of whom are ex-marching members themselves, work extensively with the group as well as with individual members."

" Few activities offer the unique combination of challenges and fulfilment that can be found within the Falcons organisation. Dedication, discipline and a willingness to devote time and effort to the band are the most important requirements"

" Participation offers the opportunity to entertain and thrill vast audiences with a unique style of music, movement and showmanship. At the same time, in an activity where championships may be won or lost by a point, it requires the stamina and precision of a highly competitive team sport."

" The band was a member of the British Youth Band Association (BYBA)."

"The Corps had a peak in 1998, reaching the national finals and competing in the world show band championships.
